My area of research examines the space between the human and the non-human: how technology can be used to flip the function of nature from a pantry of resources into a source of collaborative innovation. My work aims to promote a world where biology informs technology and technology endorses biology through the means of art and design. My goal is to promote a mutually beneficial relationship between ourselves and nature through the deconstruction of hierarchical boundaries. I believe this transformation of thought cannot occur on its own. It needs a mechanism of transportation, an intersection between the self and nature, between art and science. This need is the root of my exploration into an area known as BioDesign.
